PAINTED DRIFTWOOD WORKSHOP
Dazed and Reused Studio (740 Broadway St., Tacoma) is the place to be Dec. 6 from 3-5 p.m. for the Funky Feathers Painted Driftwood Workshop. Join artist Nancy Franklin as she guides you through the wonderful art of painting amazing images on driftwood. Dazed and Reused will supply a whole stock pile of different shapes and sizes for you to choose from. This workshop is $25 per person. All supplies are included. CHRISTMAS AT FORT STEILACOOM
Dec. 9 sees the return of the annual Christmas at Fort Steilacoom event. Living historians will present a period candle-light Christmas in the remaining officers’ quarters. The gift shop will also be open for Christmas shopping. Tickets will be available at the Fort Steilacoom Interpretive Center in Quarters 4 (9601 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood) during the event, 4-7:30 p.m. Adults $5, children $3, family $10 (parents & kids). The Glitter Party Winter Cookie Decorating and Crafts Party takes place Sat. Dec. 9 beginning at 1 p.m. at the STAR Center, 3873 S. 66th St., Tacoma. The Gingerbread Showcase is a community event presented in the lobby of the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Tacoma. The display runs through New Year’s Day. The gingerbread landmarks, created by local bakers and culinary students from Tacoma Public Schools, showcase the history and flavor of Tacoma.
