Tacoma’s Titans looking to turn it around

There is still time to turn the season around, but the Tacoma Community College Titans are going to have to catch some fire soon. The Titans hosted Grays Harbor on Friday, Oct. 12, and played the Chokers to the hilt in each of their four sets. However, Grays Harbor (4-3, 19-16) would get the best of Tacoma, winning three of four sets. Tacoma was able to take the third set by a score of 25-21, but fell in the first, second and fourth by a score of 25-19 in each go-round. Tacoma’s Baily Spurgeon (7) led the Titans with 23 kills on the evening. Tacoma (2-5, 9-12) returns to action in Grit City on Friday, Oct. 19, when they host Lower Columbia (6-1, 23-5) at 7 p.m. The 2018 NWAC volleyball championship tournament will return again to the Greater Tacoma Convention Center from Nov. 15 through Nov. 18.
