PUYALLUP ROLLS EARLY, OFTEN OVER LIONS

0

The Bellarmine Lions opened their season with a short road trip down into the Puyallup Valley on Friday, Aug. 31, and the host Puyallup Vikings were in no mood to roll out the red carpet for their guests. Bellarmine quarterback Marcus Stowers (top-left) kept the Lions close with an early touchdown run to trim Puyallup’s lead to 14-7, but the Vikings had just begun to step down on the gas pedal. It appears that Puyallup’s football program has again become the real deal on the 4A state level. Puyallup would run away with a 49-14 victory to open 4A SPSL play.
