The season is still early for a young Bellarmine Lady Lions volleyball team. With a non-league schedule that boasts some of the strongest teams throughout the state, it’s not really that surprising to see Bellarmine sitting at 1-3 so far this season. When you’re a school that has won several state championships in recent years, it’s always important to schedule matches with the best possible opponents before 4A South Puget Sound League action begins.
Bellarmine has two non-league matches left on the schedule (hosting Kennedy on Thursday, Sept. 13, and at Bishop Blanchet on Thursday, Sept. 20) and then the pressure will ramp up considerably. The Lady Lions will open league play on Monday, Sept. 24, with a home match against Sumner (3-0). Mark your calendars for the regular season finale on Monday, Oct. 22. Bellarmine will pay its only visit to Curtis for a 7:15 p.m. start time.
