Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards will return to her alma mater of Lincoln High School to present her first State of the City. The free community event, “Our Tacoma: Our City, Our Success,” will be held in the auditorium at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11 to mark Woodards’ first 100 days in office.
“I’m extremely humbled and honored to serve as Tacoma’s mayor, but I know that success does not rest with me alone,” said Mayor Woodards. “Great things happen when we all work together.”
Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Tom Pierson will serve as master of ceremonies for an event that will also include performances by the Grant Elementary Troubadours Choir and the Lincoln High School Drumline.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The event will be streamed live at cityoftacoma.org/stateofthecity and on TV Tacoma, which is carried on both the Click! and Comcast Cable systems as well as on facebook.com/cityoftacoma. Event attendees and remote viewers can also post comments about, and follow the event, using the hashag #SOTC253.
