Tacoma Police seek I.D. of thieves targeting clothing boutique

The owner of a Tacoma clothing store is warning all boutique owners to be on the lookout for a trio of prolific thieves. Envy’s Shannon Thompson says the crooks have come into her store on North 26th Street in the Proctor District at least twice.

“It hurts very, very much and my employee was so distraught. Because she just started here, she didn’t know all the signs and she was afraid she would confront them and accuse them wrongfully,” said Thompson.

The suspects used distract and grab tactics to steal clothing and even a bracelet that supports breast cancer research. “While the cashier was being distracted, the females were actually loading up bags with merchandise from the store. When the cashier went to contact them, to see if they needed any help, provide customer service, the male actually stole items from the store. When the cashier came back to assist the male again, the two females proceeded to take more items. They all three left separately, but rapidly, from the store with more than $1,000 worth of merchandise in their possession,” said Tacoma Police Officer Loretta Cool.

Fortunately, all three were seen on surveillance video. Tacoma Police say the male suspect is Asian/Pacific Islander, around 40 years old. He was wearing a bright safety vest. The dark haired woman is believed to be white, 20 to 25 years old, around 5-feet, 6-inches tall and 110 pounds, with a straight ponytail/mullet-type hairdo. The third suspect is a blonde woman wearing a sweatshirt with the word “supply” on it. She appears to be 20 to 25 years old, 5-feet, 7-inches and weighs around 135 pounds.

If you can tell Tacoma Police any of their names, Call Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County at 1 (800) 222-TIPS. There is a cash reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to an arrest and charges in the case.
