“They took the driver out at gunpoint and threatened to kill him, pointed guns at him and threatened to kill his family if they called anybody, or told anyone,” said Pierce County Sheriff’s Det. Ed Troyer.

The victim waved down deputies in the 26300 block of 86th Avenue East in the Graham area and told them he had been hanging out in his green Honda Accord with his girlfriend and two men who he knew. He said he was driving northbound on 86th Avenue when one of the men told him to turn down a dirt road at 262nd Street East. and then to stop the car. The victim said that when he stopped the car, the two men got out of the vehicle and then both pointed handguns at him.

“The odd part was when they took the car, his girlfriend was in the backseat. They pointed a gun at her and told her to be quiet and took her with the car,” said Troyer.

The victim told the deputies that his vehicle had tracking software that allowed his mother to access the Honda’s location. Deputies tracked the vehicle and arrested one of the suspects in the 17600 block of Meridian Avenue East in South Hill.

“Luckily, we were able to find the car fairly quickly in a shopping complex and get her recovered. She was crying but was ok,” said Troyer.

The suspect told deputies that after they fled in the stolen car, they saw the police activity and ditched the car in front of the Walgreens. He said “Danny” fled the parking lot in a truck. He had a key to the Honda and a backpack that contained .38 caliber bullets, a box full of .45 caliber bullets, an unloaded gun magazine and a ballistic vest.
