The Board of Directors of Tacoma Events Commission will be holding an exciting online auction to raise critical funds in support of Freedom Fair, Tacoma’s premiere celebration of our country’s independence.
Running from Nov. 1 through Nov. 15, the auction will feature some very unique items just in time for holiday gift-giving, including an African Safari, Italian vacation, live entertainment, overnights at local hotels, gift baskets, and more.
“Thanks to the generous contributions of many businesses and individuals who love Freedom Fair and want to see it continue, we will have more than forty auction items during this online auction,” says Tony LaStella, president & CEO of Tacoma Events Commission. “No matter what people enjoy, they’re going to find at least one thing in this auction that they’re going to be excited to bid on.”
Freedom Fair has been a beloved community tradition since the 1970’s, and the Tacoma Events Commission has produced it since 1979. TEC is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 that also produces Gray Sky Blues Music Festival, Orting Pumpkin Fest, Wings and Wheels and also the highly successful inaugural Tall Ships Festival in 2005.
According to Executive Director Gary Grape, “We are grateful to the many supporters we have in the community, both business and individuals, who not only show up in July to make Freedom Fair an annual success, but also contribute to fundraising activities like this auction.”
The Freedom Fair Online Auction site will go live on Facebook Thursday, Nov. 1, and will run continuously through Thursday, Nov. 15, when bidding will terminate. Please do not make any bids until Nov. 1. Please go to Facebook and type in “Freedom Fair Online Auction.” Winning bidders will be notified the evening of Nov. 15, and auction items may be picked up at the TEC office on Friday, Nov. 16.
