Authorities apprehend rape suspect who hid under woman’s porch

CAPTURED: Lewis County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a possible suicidal man on Feb. 6 in the area of Guerrier Road and State Route 508 in Chehalis. Deputies located David Love and detained him on his warrants for rape in the first degree, burglary in the second degree, unlawful imprisonment and violation of a felony domestic violence court order. Deputies say Love had a black bag on him when he was arrested containing a shotgun and shells. He is prohibited from having a firearm so he was charged in Lewis County with unlawful possession of a firearm, second degree.

Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives had been asking for the public’s help to find Love.

“He hid under the porch of his ex-girlfriend’s house, waited for her roommate to leave, broke into the house, tied her to a chair and forcibly raped her and assaulted her,” said Det. Ed Troyer.

The 53-year-old took off when the woman’s roommate came home.
