Letter to the Editor: Don Baldwin

Dear Editor,

I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised to see that Tacoma schools joined the gun ban walkout last Wednesday. It’s unfortunate that more people aren’t stepping outside the cultural narrative that gun owners and the NRA don’t care about innocent lives (we have a huge motivation to) and that gun control is the most effective way to prevent criminal violence (it’s not).

Are the schools allowing or facilitating these walkouts doing so as part of an overall free speech policy that supports all free speech? For example, can pro-life students stage a walkout too? Or is free speech only acceptable for some opinions?
