The fine folks who bring B&G Sponsored Events to life continue to do their good works in the community, with three annual events coming up over the next several months.
For more than a decade, founders Bill and Gail Rocheleau (the “B&G” of B&G Sponsored Events) have been presenting vendors’ fairs that offer a wide variety of arts and crafts, clothing, books, jewelry, keepsakes, foods, home décor and much more, along with commercial vendors from Mary Kay, LuLaRoe, Scentsy and Avon. In addition, the Rocheleaus and the B&G staff – Don and Cassie Tripp and all-around helper Buddy – always make sure financial donations from their events go to local organizations like the Lions Club, the Bethany United Methodist Church food bank, churches and even to people on the streets who are down on their luck. B&G events also gives local vendors a way to sell their goods and earn some income, which in turn gives local shoppers a chance to discover some wonderful items to keep or give as gifts.
Today, B&G Sponsored Events organizes about nine events a year. “We started out doing one a year, then two a year…,” Gail said of the growth over the years, noting that they could do 12 a year if it were humanly possible. “We wouldn’t have enough turnaround time to give our vendors the kind of service that we want to give them,” Gail said, and treating their vendors well is a hallmark of B&G Sponsored Events.
“We really care a lot about our vendors,” Bill said. “We watch out for them. When you become one of our vendors, you’re part of our family.” For vendors that sign on with B&G, there are perks come with it like the B&G vendor loyalty card. At every B&G event, vendors can get their card punched and with 11 punches they get free vending space at their 12th B&G event. Bill and Gail are in the process of planning a vendors’ appreciation night to show their vendors how important they are. Bill and Gail also offer vendors the opportunity to have their own events spotlighted with podcaster William Lee from Keeba Agency, who provides live podcasts at B&G events. Tune in to Lee’s podcasts at www.BnGSponsoredEvents.com.
In the past, B&G events would be held at various locations around Tacoma, but now a permanent home has been found at First Christian Church of Tacoma, 602 N. Orchard St. Drivers around town will still be seeing the big, bright pink signs that the Rocheleaus put out on event days, a sort of signature advertising method for B&G Events that works wonders. Returning shoppers will also be able to visit with returning vendors and meet new ones as well, since B&G Sponsored Events keeps things fresh with new vendors among the regulars.
B&G events couldn’t happen with the dedicated staff – the Tripps and Buddy – who help make it all possible, including B&G’s charitable donations.
“Even though we donate to other charities, Mary Bridge will always have a special donation jar set out,” Gail said. “Every penny put in that jar goes to Mary Bridge, along with a portion of the raffle.” On top of this, $5 per vendor comes out of any modest profit B&G Events might make, which adds to the donations.
Over the next three months, B&G Sponsored Events will present three favorites:
It’s the Great Pumpkin Bazaar
Sat., Oct. 12
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The first B&G Sponsored Events fall show has a Halloween theme, but also serves as a let’s-get-ready-for-Christmas event since now is the time of year that a lot of people start getting ideas and shopping for the Holidays. “It’s the Great Pumpkin Bazaar” will include nearly 40 vendors and a special guest appearance by Sally and Jack Skellington from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” fame. Bill loves watching children’s reactions when they see these two beloved characters. “Jack and Sally are the biggest thrill for the kids,” he said.
Celebrate our Veterans Bazaar
Sat., Nov. 16
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A particularly popular B&G event, the Veterans Bazaar is about much more than a regular vendors event, with veterans being recognized in numerous ways. In honor of all veterans, a “Missing Man Table,” also known as the “Fallen Comrade Table,” will be set up as a place of honor in memory of fallen, missing, or imprisoned military service members.
11th Annual Holiday Bazaar
Sat., Dec. 14
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This year’s holiday bazaar doubles as a happy 11th anniversary for B&G Sponsored Events. Expect a visit from old St. Nick and lots of Christmastime cheer – the perfect way to avoid crowds at the mall and to spend your money helping to support local people.
B&G Sponsored Events offers very affordable vending space for any level of seller. To get more information on vending or any aspect of B&G, email Gail at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (253) 831-7894. Visit www.BnGSponsoredEvents.com and also find them on Facebook.
