The USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships will be Dec. 10-15 at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood. The national championships are expected to attract nearly 2,000 top professional and amateur cyclists representing more than 45 states. A total of 37 events will determine national champions, winners of the coveted Stars-and-Stripes jerseys.
Tacoma South Sound Sports Commission and Low Pressure Promotions, LLC of Seattle are host partners for the cyclocross championships.
A full slate of races will begin at 8 a.m. each day, and conclude each afternoon with award ceremonies. Tuesday opens with seven non-championship races and two masters championship events. Masters championship events for men and women will continue through Friday, with collegiate championship categories featured Thursday and Friday. Juniors will compete on Saturday, featured between championship races for men and women in Industry and Singlespeed categories.
The week of cyclocross racing culminates on Sunday with the 10 and under non-championship contest and the final six championships for Stars-and-Stripes jerseys – junior men 17-18, junior women 17-18, under-23 women, under-23 men, elite women and elite men. These races also serve as a way for athletes to qualify for the 2020 Cyclocross World Championships in Switzerland.
