First Night Tacoma to celebrate the Tree of Life

0

The Tree of Life represents new beginnings, nature, harmony, and the connections of a community. Gather up your crew and head to downtown Tacoma on Broadway between 9th and 11th streets on New Years’ Eve (5 p.m. to midnight) to celebrate what these virtues represent in the South Sound.

First Night 2020 is an alcohol-free, family friendly New Year’s Eve event with its own unique take – the traditional “world’s shortest parade,” artistic performances across several stages, interactive family activities, a special “Kid’s Countdown” at 9 p.m., and a night market featuring local holiday goods. Fire pits and a food court will keep everyone warm and well fed until the countdown to midnight.

Tickets purchased before Dec. 30 are $14, and $18 the day of. Children 11 years old and under are free. $1 of each admission button purchased will go to the Metro Parks Tacoma Foundation for the Arbor Fund, which helps to plant new trees in public parks.
