With over 300 exhibitors, expert advice from Brett Tutor of TLC’s “Trading Spaces” and other top speakers, inspiring gardens and more, Floor & Decor brings you the 36th annual Tacoma Home + Garden Show, set for Jan. 24-27 at the Tacoma Dome.The state’s largest combined home and garden event is a one-stop opportunity for showgoers to discover a vast range of products and services for the home and garden. With plenty of experts on hand, they can help make your home and garden dreams a reality.Headlining the list of informative and entertaining speakers is Brett Tutor from TLC’s hit show, “Trading Spaces.” From renovation overhauls to DIY do-overs, the carpenter and multi-talented licensed contractor takes the Main Stage Friday and Saturday with useful advice and tips.Adding to the value for attendees, parking is free in Tacoma Dome parking lots during the show, courtesy of Western Washington Toyota Dealers.
Vancouver, B.C.-based Jamie Banfield, an award-winning interior designer, shares ideas on the Main Stage for transforming and maximizing spaces that exude both function and beauty. Banfield’s work showcases distinctive character balancing modern and rustic elements.
For lively how-to advice for both green thumbs and gardening “newbies,” top regional speakers include “The Compleat Home Gardener” Marianne Binetti, “The Creative Gardener” Sue Goetz, and experts from the WSU Pierce County Master Gardeners and Tacoma Rose Society.
Showgoers can take home plenty of useful ideas from big and bountiful display gardens, spanning over 2,000-square-feet, created by Tacoma’s Father Nature Landscape, Olympic Landscaping and Nature Perfect Landscape of Olympia.
The show’s “Artists Row” spotlights the work of regional artisans with art offerings for your home and garden, including unique metal art hangings, stunning landscape paintings, distinctive works of stained and leaded glass, handmade designer hats, decorator pillow slips and pillows, etched glassware and more.
For those seeking to add an eclectic touch to home and garden décor, the “Vintage Market” showcases repurposed and vintage-chic items from over a dozen local vendors. From farmhouse collectibles and mid-century modern pieces, to lighting fixtures and architectural salvage artifacts, the “Vintage Market” offers one-of-a-kind items for the home and garden.
The new Workshop series features D.I.Y activities daily, curated by top local vendors: The Craft Lab, KdBird, Jade & Co and The Makery. Located in booth #451 near the Vintage Market, activities include the “Art of Natural Dyeing,” “Succulents 101,” “Plant Mounting,” “Succulent Birdhouses” and other activities. On “Hero Day” (Friday, Jan. 25), the show welcomes all military, doctors, first responders and law enforcement with free admission. And on “Teacher Appreciation Day” (Sunday, Jan. 27) all teachers with valid ID will be admitted free.
