Most Metro Parks facilities back to regular schedule

With snow melting and more rain in the forecast, nearly all Metro Parks facilities and programs are back on their normal schedules beginning Thursday, Feb. 14.

Two of the exceptions: Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and Point Defiance Park’s Five Mile Drive, as crews continue to clean up both attractions. Five Mile Drive, in fact, might be better described as Five Mile Ski for a couple more days. Meadow Park Golf Course’s two courses also will stay shut down, most likely through the weekend, while the driving range and restaurant will be open.

Also open: Fort Nisqually. The Fort had suffered a power outage during the storm, but the power is back. Preschool programs will run as usual. Anyone with questions should contact the appropriate instructors or community centers.

Snow, ice and slush have disrupted park district operations since Friday and led to full closures and program cancellations or postponements in the park district through Tuesday and delayed openings Wednesday. Updates can be found at
