The City of Tacoma is holding an open house for the Taylor Way Rehabilitation Project on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Fabulich Center (3600 Port of Tacoma Road, Room 104).
Taylor Way is a main freight corridor for the Port of Tacoma and is a primary access point to the Blair-Hylebos Peninsula. At this open house, information about the rehabilitation project scope will be on display and participants will have an opportunity to provide input.
Proposed improvements to Taylor Way include: new concrete pavement from the Fife border to East 11th Street; improved pedestrian access from Lincoln Avenue to State Route 509; added turn lanes at State Route 509/Taylor Way to reduce congestion; new energy-efficient LED street lighting; new traffic signals; and other amenities.
