Marketplace Events, the largest producer of business-to-consumer home shows in North America, has purchased the Northwest Flower & Garden Festival and Tacoma Home & Garden Show from O’Loughlin Trade Shows.
O’Loughlin Trade Shows, with offices in Portland and Tacoma, is the largest producer of consumer shows in the Pacific Northwest. The family-owned company will continue their long tradition of producing boat, RV, food and sportsmen’s shows.

The Northwest Flower & Garden Festival, set for February 20-24, 2019, at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, is the second-largest flower and garden event in the United States. The festival’s current staff is joining Marketplace Events and will continue to run the festival. Founded in 1989 and purchased by O’Loughlin Trade Shows in 2009, the event features more than 20 spectacular show gardens, how-to seminars by top experts, and quality exhibitors from across the United States, Canada and beyond.
The 36th annual Tacoma Home & Garden Show runs January 24-27, 2019 at the Tacoma Dome. Operated from Marketplace Events’ Vancouver, B.C. office, the show will be directed by veteran Show Manager Tyson Kidd and Assistant Show Manager Stephanie Gatzionis. Presented by Western Washington Toyota Dealers, it is the state’s largest combined home and garden event.
This is the third acquisition of the year by Marketplace Events. The company has acquired or launched 25 shows since being purchased by Sentinel Capital Partners in February 2016.
