The Pierce County burn ban was lifted today. There are no air quality burn bans currently in effect in the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency jurisdiction.
Expected upper-level clouds tonight and into tomorrow should help reduce inversions and air pollution across Puget Sound. An expected cold front on Friday will return the area back to a “good” air quality rating.
The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency thanks everyone who switched to alternative sources of heat instead of burning wood during these bans. Children, the elderly, and people with chronic respiratory health issues especially benefit from your efforts.
