Joint Base Lewis-McChord will open its gates to the public for the annual Armed Forces Day celebration this Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This year’s celebration take’s place at Heritage Hill Airpark on JBLM McChord Field for the first time since becoming a joint base Oct 1, 2010. Armed Forces Day offers members of the community an opportunity to join JBLM service members in celebrating America’s history, our military heritage, and our commitment to serving our community.
The 2018 Armed Forces Day schedule begins with the Armed Forces Day Volksmarch
and bicycle ride. Registration and walk or ride begins at 9 a.m. on 5th St, adjacent to the airpark. All attractions will be located at or near McChord Field’s Heritage Hill Airpark. Attractions include: military history displays and reenactments, displays of Air Force and Army military aircraft, vehicles and equipment, live music and entertainment, carnival rides, a climbing wall, and craft and food vendors.
