HomeStreet Bank has announced the grand opening of its newly relocated Tacoma neighborhood branch at 1501 S Union Ave. The retail branch provides personal banking and investment services in conjunction with a HomeStreet Home Loan Center, which is located in the same building.

“Over the past 30 years, it has been exciting to watch Tacoma grow and prosper,” said branch manager Peter Carlstrom. “The residents and business community in Pierce County work hard to make Tacoma a better place to live and play, and we’re honored to continue serving them.”

HomeStreet Bank will celebrate the grand opening with an open house in partnership with the Tacoma Chamber of Commerce’s monthly “Chamber After Hours” event. All members of the community are encouraged to stop by on Feb. 15 from 5-7 p.m. to meet the team, network and enjoy light refreshments in the beautifully designed building.

The new branch’s design honors HomeStreet’s Pacific Northwest roots and the communities it serves. The bank partnered with global architecture firm MG2 on the project.

“We wanted to create a building that blends HomeStreet Bank’s Pacific Northwest heritage with modern industrial design elements,” said MG2 Principal Myra Vaughn. “The interior’s openness and mix of tile, reclaimed wood and metal finishes elicit an inviting residential feel. We positioned oversized windows along the building’s east and west faces to maximize daylight and establish a sense of connection with the neighborhood.”
