Travelers who use southbound Interstate 5 will soon see changes to lane designations approaching 54th Avenue East in Fife.
This weekend, Washington State Department of Transportation striping crews will designate the right lane of southbound I-5 as an exit only to 54th Avenue East. Work to make this striping change will involve overnight lane and ramp closures.
- Up to three right lanes closed on southbound I-5 will begin at 9 p.m. Saturday Sept. 29 and all three lanes will reopen by 10 a.m. Sunday Sept. 30.
- The southbound I-5 exit #137 to 54th Avenue East will close from 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, to 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept 30.
This work is weather dependent and could be rescheduled.
This temporary striping change will remain in place until the I-5 Portland Avenue to Port of Tacoma Road Southbound HOV project is complete. The design-build project will begin in early 2019.
