Fife Police and the Puget Sound Auto Theft Task Force are asking for the public’s help to locate a stolen tractor-trailer full of toys.
“We believe the person that stole that tractor hooked up to the trailer full of toys and just drove away with it,” said Fife PD Sgt. Tom Thompson.
The toys were in a white 2002 Freightliner with Washington plate C17569G and reddish-brown trailer labeled Triton with Tennessee plates. The thief stole them on Nov. 29 from a distribution center on 20th Street in Fife. Detectives say there were 6000 Laser X” laser tag systems and Classic Rock Tumbler toys inside that have not been found. Travelers Insurance is now offering a reward of up to $5,000 for their safe return. Keep an eye out for them on sites like Craigslist or OfferUp. “Our guess is they’re probably going to be quite a substantial discount and so we’re hoping that folks can, if they see that or happen to notice these things on sale, that they’d be willing to give us a call,” said Sgt. Thompson.
Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County is also offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charges of anyone involved in stealing the tractor-trailer. If you have any information that can solve this case or help recover the toys, call Fife Police or the Crime Stoppers hot line at 1 (800) 222-TIPS (8477). You may also submit the information at tpcrimestoppers.com. All calls and tips are guaranteed to be anonymous. This is one of the cases being featured this weekend on Washington’s Most Wanted airing Friday at 11 p.m. on Q13 FOX, Saturday night at 10 p.m. on JOEtv and midnight on Q13 FOX.
