Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help to find Erica Lavon Harris. Detectives say the 42-year-old has been involved in a child custody dispute with her ex. Prosecutors have charged her with eight counts of felony harassment, two counts of intimidating a witness, one count of violation of an anti-harassment order, and eight counts of violation of a no-contact order.
She is suspected of writing multiple letters threatening to kill her ex and his fiancé; these letters have been left outside the victims’ residence in violation of multiple court orders. Deputies say the handwriting matches samples Harris has previously provided.
Here is an example of one of the letters according to the charging documents. The spelling and grammar have not been altered except to censor the foul language. “I WILL KILL YOU BOTH BEFORE SHE WILL EVER GO WITH ANY OF YOU SICK F****! JUST WAIT STUPID SAGGY C*** IM COMING FOR YOU, PAYBACK IS A F****** B****. IM WATCHING YOUR EVERY F****** MOVE. I WARNED YOU NOT TO F*** WITHTHIS BAD AS B*****. M****** HATES BOTH OF YOU! STOP SENDING YOUR B******* CARDS TO MY HOUSE. THEY GO IN THE GARBAGE WHERE YOU BELONG! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO DIE MOTHER*******. BY MY; GUN, MY HANDS OR BY FIRE? I GUESS WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE.”
“We’re trying to reach out and find her now, because we believed she’s moved and she’s left threatening letters, including death threats against some of the victims, so we want to get her picked up before anybody gets hurt,” said Pierce County Det. Ed Troyer. Harris is 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighs 135 pounds.
