Shark Frenzy lands guests in the jaws of a Great White

Wild Waves Theme & Water Park is going to make waves in 2020 with the debut of three ocean-themed additions. Shark Frenzy – a family thrill ride that puts riders in the jaws of spinning sharks – will splash into the theme park, while the water park prepares for a wave pool makeover designed for those who are truly wild about waves.

Shark Frenzy delivers a new spin on a classic thrill ride as guests find themselves in the mouth of a great white. The wide-open jaws of the breaching sharks serve as the ride’s cars, whirling riders around in a circular, side-to-side, unpredictable motion.

A proprietary new WaveTek wave generation system is scheduled to be added to the park’s popular Wave Pool turning the half-million-gallon pool into an ocean brimming with rolling, diagonal and peaking waves. Adding to the waterside fun, installation of a giant new LED screen as brilliant in the daylight as it is at night will enhance the park’s Dive In Movie line-up and deliver non-stop entertainment all day long. Trivia games, music videos, sporting events and custom programming will take center stage at the Wave Pool throughout the summer.

“Real curls and breaking waves will move our Wave Pool experience from mundane to insane,” said Park President, Jody Kneupper. “Our guests have been asking for more waves, and more rides families can enjoy together; in 2020, we’re adding both.”
