Summerplay 2017 starts Sept. 8 at Dukesbay Theater


The Changing Scene Theatre Northwest, a fringe theatre dedicated to new and innovative works, brings you its 15th annual world premiere one-act play festival Summerplay 2017: A Festival of New Works to Tacoma. Sept. 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. All tickets $15. Limited seating (advance purchase is strongly recommended). Summerplay contains some mature language.

Summerplay 2017: A Festival of New Works is directed by The Changing Scene Theatre Northwest’s Aartistic Director Pavlina Morris and features nine short world premieres with each performance submitted from playwrights from across the country and around the world.

The casts for all of the plays in Summerplay 2017 are assembled from an ensemble featuring Curtis Beech, Larry Chandler, Julie Cole, Eric Cuestas-Thompson, Nick Fitzgerald, Alan LaPine, Betzy Miller, Michelle Noel, Mary Sheehan, Alex Stanioch, Margie Stenberg, David Sung, Corey Thompson and Carol Wieltschnig.

Summerplay 2017: A Festival of New Works performs at The Dukesbay Theater, 508 6th Ave., #10, Tacoma (go to the side entrance of the Merlino Building, which houses the Grand Cinema).

All nine short, world-premiere one-act plays will be presented every performance. Summerplay contains some mature language.
