The 12th annual South Sound Sustainability Expo takes place on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center (1500 Broadway). This free, family event connects community members with more than 100 local businesses and organizations dedicated to creating a healthy and environmentally sustainable South Sound.
Admission is free. Enjoy a day celebrating all things sustainability in the South Sound area with interactive workshops, screen-printing, community art, a kids’ corner and more. New this year is a Fix-It Fair hosted by Zero Waste Washington and the Tacoma Tool Library. Bring your jewelry, clothing, appliances, electronics, and more in need of mending to get them fixed for free.
Workshops this year will explore a zero waste lifestyle, sustainable self-care, and how to be a good advocate for your community. We’re also excited to host a panel on sustainable business in the South Sound, and a green infrastructure tour of downtown Tacoma to learn how smart street design can impact the environment.
