For 12 years and counting, Jazz LIVE at Marine View is standing the test of time with large audiences, great musical talent and the promotion of live music in the South Sound. On Sunday, Feb. 9, The Geoffery Castle Band takes the stage at 5 p.m. All ages are welcome to come and enjoy this free concert at Marine View Church, 8469 Eastside Dr. NE., Tacoma.
Castle is a pioneer on the electric six-string violin. From his beginnings as a street musician in New York City and Paris, he rose to play in the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of “M. Butterfly.” A theme of Castle’s career is to destroy people’s pre-conceived notions of what is possible on a violin, which he does every time he takes the stage. A bandleader and solo artist – with several critically acclaimed releases on his own Twisted Fiddle Music label – Castle has managed to share stages with an illustrious group of musicians including Blues Traveler, all the original and current members of Heart, Buddy Miles and Alan White of Yes.
For his Marine View appearance that will showcase a Celtic influence, Castle will be joined by Dan Connolly on guitar and vocals, Mark Cardenas on keyboards, TJ Morris on drums and Steve Boyce on bass. His performance crosses many genres. Don’t miss a great concert in the beautiful confines of Marine View. Learn more about Castle at www.geoffreycastle.com.
