Tacoma Arts Live has reinvented its dazzling annual fundraiser in 2019 with Tacoma Arts Live’s “Gala: The Great Race” at the historic Tacoma Armory on Saturday, Feb.9 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $200 and benefit Education through the Arts.
The fundraiser, which will replace “Star Chefs on Broadway,” is a benefit for Tacoma Arts Live’s arts education programs, which serve over 55,000 students, teachers, and family members annually. The programs provide theater classes, youth camps, educational matinees, and professional development opportunities for teachers, as well as community outreach projects including the LENS Project and the Civil Rights Legacy Tour.
Tacoma Arts Live’s Gala: The Great Race encourages guests to dress in their most inventive steampunk ensembles and discover a creative world inside the historic Tacoma Armory for a eclectically delightful evening in three acts:
Act I: Cocktails and Raffle
Act II: The Great Race, with prizes
Act III: Live auction and fund-a-need, plus exquisite dinner, fine wine and dessert
In Act II’s The Great Race teams will compete for glory and fame while being cheered on to victory by an enthusiastic crowd. With delicious catering from Pacific Grill and X Group, entertainment from EnJoy Productions, and a live auction featuring enviable items such as an eight-day tour to Italy and tickets to Lady Gaga’s Vegas residency, this is an evening not to be missed.
