Fawcett Hall transforms into Prohibition era dance hall one night only Birch Periera & The Gin Joints, with Sundae + Mr. Goessl play swing, jump blues, rockabilly and jazz

Head to Alma Mater’s Fawcett Hall on Nov. 3 for a night of music and dancing with Birch Pereira & the Gin Joints and Sundae + Mr. Goessl. This is a great opportunity to come out on Saturday night, listen to some of the best original tunes reminiscent of the 30s and 40s, hear great interpretations of the classics from the era and see Tacoma’s newest venue and dance at night. The idea here is fun and these two bands will supply it. (Fun fact: Kate Voss (Sundae) is from Sumner High School.)

Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $12 for general admission and $50 for the VIP treatment. The bands are encouraging people to come dressed in Prohibition era clothing and spend the night dancing and listening to music reminiscent of that period. KNKX is on board as a sponsor and Abe Beeson will be MC for the evening.

Both bands are busy performing all over town and Sundae + Mr. Goessl, a husband and wife duo, have been crisscrossing the country for the past few years gaining a national reputation for their music and charm. Birch Pereira & The Gin Joints are favorites of KNKX and have performed live in-studio and on their listener cruises. Two of his songs were just picked up for in-store play at Starbucks around the world. They are both quite engaging and very, very musical. It should be a fun and nostalgic evening at Fawcett Hall.
