A Victorian Country Christmas continues through Dec. 3 at the Washington State Fairgrounds (110 9th Ave. SW, Puyallup). Step back in time into a Victorian village where holiday music fills the air. Shop in more than 500 stores and find the perfect gift for everyone on your list. Enjoy gourmet food, wine and delicious tasty treats throughout the festival. Visit two beautiful theaters and see countless professional stage shows, The Singing Nativity and concerts. Soak in the atmosphere of music, lights and décor. The event features dozens of musical and dance performances, dramas and beauty pageants.
The Singing Nativity features a cast of more than 100 members and dancers who bring the story of Christmas to life. Classic Christmas carols and new anthems flesh out the true meaning of Christmas. The show is sponsored by the Dance Academy of Puyallup and Spirit 105.3 FM. Show times are Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., Dec. 2 at 2 and 6 p.m. and Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Showings take place at the Holiday Jubilee Theater in the Showplex.
In addition to gourmet food and holiday treats, there is also a Winter Wine Garden. The wine garden is the perfect place to rest and relax. A beautiful outdoor scene sets the stage for tasting wine (and beer) and getting into the holiday spirit. Relax after shopping and try a familiar brand or something new. Try a sip and find the perfect match for holiday dinners and gift giving.
Country Wagon will be providing free horse-drawn sleigh and carriage rides at A Victorian Country Christmas. Stop by the blue gate to ride the carriage through the scenic route to each building. The sleigh and carriage rides run from noon to 8 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 and noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 3.
The Spotlight Concert by the Sweet Tea Trio takes place Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Sweet Tea is Alabama’s dynamic country trio that is currently making their mark on country music. Hailing from three different parts of Alabama, Kate Falcon, Victoria Camp and Savannah Coker have joined forces to give country music fans their first taste of an all-female trio since groups like the Dixie Chicks and the Pistol Annies. Their trademark is their harmonies and collectively they sing with a beautiful blend of southern charm and a little bit of country twang. They are all singer/songwriters and musicians but most importantly, you will see true entertainers in the making.
At Santa’s Village, you will encounter animated displays, beautiful décor and entertainment. Photos with Santa are available for a fee.
A Victorian Country Christmas is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 3. Tickets range from $8 to $12 (visit website for details). For more information, visit www.avictoriancountrychristmas.com.
