Join Michaela Eaves and Sunday Hamilton Oct. 21 from 2-5 p.m. for art and readings of stories and numbers. Eaves reads stories and discusses illustrations, while Hamilton presents transcendental art and numerology readings. The event is part of the joint art show, “Enchantment: Michaela Eaves and Sunday Hamilton,” at the Handforth Gallery, which is located in the Main Branch of Tacoma Public Library (1102 Tacoma Ave. S.). The show opened last month and will continue through Nov. 1.

Michaela Eaves grew up in the wilds of Montana, surrounded by nature and animals, and spent most of her free time drawing and reading all the best fantasy books the small town and school libraries could provide. “In much of my work, I create illustrations and then write the stories to fit them — a thousand words to describe a picture and an illustration of words to add dimension to the work.”

Inspiration for Sunday Hamilton’s artwork is drawn from the natural and metaphysical worlds. Hamilton is a transcendental meditator who has studied shamanistic healing, crystals, chakras, herbalism and numerology.

The artists’ reception is free and open to the public. For information visit tacoma.bibliocommons.com.
