On March 17, the Fred Oldfield Western Heritage & Art Center will celebrate what would have been the cowboy painter’s 100th birthday with a gala extravaganza called “100 Years of Fred.” March 18 would have marked Western artist Fred Oldfield’s 100th birthday. The Heritage Center (located on the grounds of the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup) will have “the party of the century” to pay tribute to this Washington icon. The evening will be fun and exciting with a gourmet dinner prepared and served by Gayle Orth Catering along with wine and beer tastings. There will be music by the Jones and Fischer Country Band. Live and silent auctions will have many amazing items for you to enjoy, such as original art, travel packages, wine baskets, wine tastings, passes to museums and restaurants around Pierce County and student art projects. There will also be a raffle of an Oldfield original painting. Wondering what to wear? It’s not black tie – think denim and diamonds instead. If it sparkles and you love it, wear it! Go online and get your tickets or just call and reserve them at (253) 752-9708. Be a part of this great evening to help The Fred Oldfield Heritage Center raise funds to make sure the Heritage Center’s Art Program continues to flourish.
